A warm welcome to our ostrich farm and animal sanctuary in the heart of Bavaria, nestled between the Upper Palatinate Jura, the Altmühl Valley, and the Franconian Lake District. Our sanctuary is home to ostriches, goats, horses, chickens, peacocks, and rabbits. Your pitch is located on a meadow directly next to the animals. PLEASE NOTE: QUIET TIME IS BETWEEN 12:00 PM AND 4:00 PM. CHECK-IN IS NOT POSSIBLE BETWEEN 12:00 PM AND 4:00 PM. NO CHECK-IN AFTER 10:00 PM. Electricity is available. Please note: Electricity (3 Euro connection fee) is metered and paid for directly on-site. You are welcome to bring your own grill or rent one for free on-site; charcoal is available for 5 Euro per bag. In Freystadt, there is a beautiful natural swimming pool (approx. 5km away) with free entry. Berching offers an indoor water park (10km away), and the Rothsee lake is about 15km away (perfect for boat trips, sailing, etc.). Cycling paths are available almost everywhere.

For a refreshing dip, there's a free natural swimming pool in Freystadt (5km away). If you're looking for year-round aquatic fun, Berching (10km away) boasts an exciting indoor water park. Don't miss the beautiful monastery church in Freystadt. The Rothsee and Altmühlsee lakes are just a few kilometers away, inviting you to swim, hike, boat, and even take a scenic cruise.

+ lots of animals: petting the cat and admiring the peacocks were the highlights here + quiet location, chirping crickets and church bells in the evening, otherwise silence + large meadow as a pitch + toilet and sink available and clean + trampoline for the children - When we arrived (we had messaged at noon to say roughly when we would be there), no one was there, no one was reachable by phone, and we had to find our own way. It might be helpful to provide more detailed information in advance for when you are out and about. Otherwise, as mentioned above, a very nice spot; we can recommend it.
