You can pick your own spot for your tent right by my fish pond. In the Nièvre department, nature comes first: bats and fireflies are your neighbors, while deer, foxes, and occasionally wild boar come to drink at the pond. Ornithologists can spot hoopoes and bee-eaters, and in May, the stag beetles take flight. Maré in Mars-sur-Allier is located near the major EuroVelo 6 (Loire) and Via Allier cycling routes; the area offers many quiet, low-traffic roads with only gentle hills or flat terrain. The campsite is situated on the edge of the hamlet of Maré, with a maximum of three groups sharing approximately one hectare. The facilities are simple: a solar shower with rainwater, a compost toilet, and a fire pit with a table and shade structure are available, and drinking water is provided. The ground is a natural meadow, with one spot leveled in 2026. Depending on the season, you can buy fish from the pond or vegetables from the organic garden directly from the owner. The most noise comes from the pigeons and deer, and at night, the crickets and nightingales. However, depending on the date, there may be noise from the nearby 'Circuit Nevers/Magny-Cours' racetrack.
