Welcome to our Donkey Pasture • in the heart of Thurgau • Located in the middle of Thurgau, right by our farm, a very special spot awaits you for your camper adventure. Our donkey pasture is the perfect retreat. Our lady donkeys are right next to your pitch and are already looking forward to some cuddles. A special highlight is our idyllic natural pond, which you are more than welcome to use. It’s perfect for cooling off on warm days, relaxing, or simply enjoying the moment. Sometimes a few fish or a curious frog might even say hello – they think it’s pretty great here too. Important: Our family is out and about on the farm from time to time. The pond is open to you at any time, but we also use it as a family during your stay. This means you might occasionally meet children or grandchildren there – we are always open to a friendly chat but also have great respect for your privacy. The pitch consists of a mix of grass, gravel, and sand. If it rains, you can easily move to a nearby asphalt area. Access is via a side road – quiet but not completely isolated: occasionally you might hear a train in the distance or the hum of model airplanes in the sky. With us, you are in the middle of authentic country life – with everything that goes with it: animals, tractors that can be loud at times, and the scent of hay or horses. A toilet is located about 100 meters from the camp, right next to the manure heap, in the former tack room (look for the door with the plaques). A warm shower is available upon request in the basement of the main house (accessible via CODE). A grill grate is provided at the fire pit, and you can find firewood in the pond house. Just behind it, you'll find the outdoor shower, which also provides drinking water. For the children, we have swimming aids and small fishing nets for playing.

On warm days, you can enjoy our pond all day long – a welcome refreshment right next to your pitch. In the surrounding area, you'll find even more outdoor activities: a barefoot path invites you to consciously feel the ground beneath your feet, and there are plenty of varied walking trails nearby for your dog. If you love wine, we highly recommend the Weinfelden Wine Trail – it leads through the rolling vineyards of the Ottenberg, combining a love for nature with a variety of regional wines. And for those seeking a bit of action: the Connyland theme park is less than 10 minutes away.

The stay at Marlis and Hans' farm was fantastic. The pond is a wonderful place to linger and swim. Happy and Sugar were definitely a highlight for us! We were able to pet and feed them, and just before 7 o'clock they even sang for us 😉 Would gladly come back, thank you very much!

The spot by the donkey pasture near the swimming pond is an idyllic place that provides pleasant cooling even on hot days. The entire site is very cozy and designed with great attention to detail. The toilet facilities are just a few steps away, practical and clean. We were provided with detailed information by Marina in advance, and on-site, Marlise gave us a warm welcome. Many thanks for the hospitality. We would love to come back.

Our stay at Eselweid am Weiher was simply wonderful and exceeded all our expectations. Every morning, we were warmly greeted by the two lovely female donkeys, Sugar and Honey – a truly special start to the day that put a smile on our faces every time. The hospitality was exceptionally warm; we felt welcome and completely at ease from the very first moment. Everything was designed with great care, and you can immediately tell how much heart and soul goes into running this place. After an eventful day, the warm shower in the evening was a real treat. Afterwards, we were able to experience the beautiful sunset in front of our tent and let the evening wind down in total peace. The gentle splashing of the water created a dreamlike atmosphere, allowing us to fall asleep peacefully. Thank you so much for this unforgettable stay – we would love to come back and can wholeheartedly recommend Eselweid am Weiher!

The pond is very beautiful and idyllic. We really enjoyed swimming in it. Unfortunately, the donkeys didn't come anywhere near us, so our child never got to see them. Of course, they are animals and don't have to come over at all - but the description of the place makes it look like they are always there and love being petted, so future visitors should perhaps check if they are around without having high expectations :)
