The "Métairie Clémesin" is situated at over 1,000 meters on the back side of the Chasseral. Once an alpine hut, it is now a rustic restaurant and an insider tip for hikers, lovers of local terroir cuisine, and nature enthusiasts. You'll enjoy a wonderful view of the Val-de-Ruz and can start your hike directly from the camp on a "Chemin Chouette" (Owl Trail). Just 15 minutes from the Chaumont Adventure Park. Your camp is located in the parking lot of the alpine restaurant "Métairie Clémesin". Because of this, things can get quite lively on weekends, public holidays, and in good weather. Tip for peace-seekers: the Métairie is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Upon request, you are welcome to use one of the two wooden tables to soak in the valley view. The unique avenue landscape of the Val-de-Ruz was named "Landscape of the Year 2022" by the Swiss Foundation for Landscape Conservation (SL-FP).

Very nice spot, lovely view towards the west. Very quiet once the restaurant guests leave. Local food in the restaurant. Note: The toilet is installed in a shipping container that also serves as storage. Functional, albeit quite basic... It didn't bother me. Tip: Bring toilet paper just in case. Warning: Restaurant is cash-only.

We were received very warmly. The pitch was spacious and the toilet area was clean. Everything was great, we really enjoyed it. We had a wonderful night of shooting stars.

We were accommodated on a quiet Tuesday on the designated gravel area, which had no shade and several piles of dog waste 🙈 Since we are traveling with two large dogs, we didn't understand this until a large German Shepherd from the neighbor visited us and we had to send it away. It wasn't very easy since our dogs wanted to protect the motorhome (their home on wheels). As already described, the toilet and sink are in a container with many crawling insects. For us, the site is clearly too expensive for what it offers. The peace and quiet and the goats with bells across the way are very nice.

Easily accessible toilet with a sink. The restaurant is highly recommended. Friendly hosts. During my visit, the parking lot was almost empty and quiet. This was my second visit, and I'd love to come back.
