Mountainhome Camp

Switzerland-3087 Niedermuhlern
Nestled directly on the Gürbetal Ridge Trail and the Way of St. James, this location serves as the perfect base to explore the entire Gantrisch Nature Park, the Lake Thun region, and the Bernese Oberland. The breathtaking view of the Alpine chain, featuring the iconic Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, from the nearby Tavel Monument is an absolute delight every single time. Keep an eye out for local wildlife – foxes, hares, deer, and badgers often make unexpected appearances! Beyond the stunning scenery, the local farms with their charming farm shops and grazing cows are not only picturesque but also offer delightful culinary experiences. A special mention goes to the nearby hamlet of Fallenbach, with its historic buildings, and Riggisberg, home to the Abegg Foundation, a cultural highlight unique in Switzerland. We are proud to be part of the Dark Sky Park: light pollution here is 20 times lower than in urban areas, allowing for an undisturbed view of the starry night sky on clear nights. For those eager to delve deeper, the nearby Uecht Observatory (Space Eye, online booking only) offers an even more immersive experience.

Very hospitable, picturesque surroundings. Heartfelt thanks!
Very pleasant hosts and great facilities. With our tent, it was a bit close to the road. But perfect for campers. Thank you very much!
