***Relaxation & Simplicity*** ~ Unwind ~ Do nothing ~ Enjoy ~ Let your soul dangle ~ Recharge ~ We're delighted you clicked on this listing – it seems you, too, wish to be inspired by nature and experience the 'art of natural living.' We – Jaqueline & Daniel – are wholeheartedly dedicated to this art and look forward to welcoming like-minded individuals to our open-air studio. At our core, we aim to revitalize and strengthen the relationship between humans and nature, and the naturalness inherent within us. We are happy to make our private and beloved nature retreat & home available to all who are willing to shed their familiar and everyday habits during their stay. For us, returning to naturalness means, among other things, not burdening nature with unnecessary environmentally harmful substances. Specifically, this means: - Leave your chemical (personal care) products at home - Instead of shower gels, perfume, deodorant, hair styling, make-up, etc., simply water and, if necessary, a piece of natural soap will suffice. - Refrain from stimulants like (e-)cigarettes & alcohol - Eat fresh foods and consciously avoid industrially processed ready-made products with lots of packaging waste. Draw from the abundance of simplicity – Less is more! Our 3500m² forest & meadow property is located in a very quiet area in a secluded mountain village in the heart of the Palatinate Forest. Hermersbergerhof is the highest settlement (550m) in the entire Palatinate region and an ideal place for hiking, mountain biking, road cycling, bouldering, climbing, or simply BEING. The unobstructed view into the forest and over the treetops to the Luitpoldturm offers many a natural spectacle. Surrounded by ancient forests (core nature reserves) with springs & streams, you can absorb the concentrated power of nature.

At the back of our property, nestled among birch, wild cherry, and fir trees, we offer 6 tent pitches on a mix of sandy forest floor and grassy areas. There's also a fire pit for cozy evenings (please book firewood with us upon arrival, depending on fire risk). Our charming 6x4m outdoor kitchen lounge, equipped with electricity and water, provides ample seating and everything you need for cooking – pots & pans, dishes & cutlery, an immersion blender, two electric hobs, a kettle, an espresso maker & a French press coffee pot, and a teapot. We also offer organic spices, salt & pepper, oil & vinegar, coffee, espresso & tea, and oatmeal on a donation basis. Wooden boxes are available for food storage, but please note there is no refrigerator. You'll find an outdoor dry composting toilet and a refreshing cold outdoor shower. For grilling, you can use either the wood-fired grill/oven or the fire pit (not permitted during high fire risk). You can also rent the entire site if you're a larger group looking for privacy or planning a special trip. Just get in touch with us!

Notes
1
Media (Photography, Filming, Audio Recording) & Documentation: Private recordings are permitted. Commercial or scientific recordings require prior coordination. Copyright laws must be observed. As the Open-Air Atelier views its work as a documentary art form (blog/journal), participants agree to be part of this documentation unless they explicitly object.
2
The Open-Air Atelier serves as a space for art and learning, fostering the relationship between humanity and nature through participatory, permacultural performance art. Every visitor becomes a participant in a 'social sculpture' (inspired by Joseph Beuys). Engaging with these creative action spaces is an immersive element of artistic education. A multi-day stay serves the methodical deepening of civilizational transformation and does not constitute a traditional tourist accommodation. As an Open-Air Atelier, we also function as a future workshop and a real-world laboratory where nature-compatible lifestyles can be consciously explored.

If you're looking for a place simply to BE, this is it. Surrounded by ancient forests (nature reserve core zones) with springs, streams, and magnificent rock formations, you can truly BE yourself here and absorb the concentrated power of nature. From the Luitpoldturm (a 30-minute walk), you'll enjoy an unparalleled 360-degree view of dense forest stretching all the way to the Northern Vosges, and the viewing platform (a 10-minute walk) is perfect for sunset gazing. Road cyclists, mountain bikers, joggers, boulderers, and hikers will find endless opportunities right on their doorstep. For climbing enthusiasts, all the fantastic spots in the Palatinate are just a 15-30 minute drive away.

I realy enjoyed the serenity of this wonderful place. A hidden jewel.
Anyone looking for peace and quiet will find it on this beautiful and lovingly furnished property. There are plenty of seating areas, and if it rains, the kitchen and a large tent provide shelter. I would love to come back.
The Freiluft Atelier is a wonderful place. Jaquline and Daniel have designed the grounds with many details like a trampoline, hammocks, and upcycled seating. We particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet, the natural garden design, and the pond. On our last evening, we were able to watch bats hunting insects and drinking at the pond. A truly great place. We will definitely be back :)
Anyone looking for peace and quiet here, wanting to meditate and find themselves, and wishing to enjoy the fresh air, silence, solitude, and a connection with nature will truly enjoy their time here... No complaints, would love to come back. Best regards, Mathias
It was a super great time !!! Thank you so, so much
Great experience. Daniel and Jaqueline are wonderful hosts and always there whenever you need anything. You can learn a lot from Daniel. Attending their workshops is a must – they offer diverse content for everyone. Here you learn to connect with nature – from people who live in harmony with nature. As for the camp itself: There is a fire pit, a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need, and electricity to charge phones or laptops. So you hardly need to bring anything. Highly recommended.
