The municipality of Schänis, beautifully situated between Lake Zurich and Lake Walen, boasts magnificent views of the Schänner mountains. Surrounded by pristine nature with abundant spring and groundwater, healthy air, imposing mountains, sparkling waters, lush green forests, and wonderful nature reserves. Relax and unwind in the Linthebene, at Hof Gaberliwiese right in the heart of the valley. Enjoy hiking, cycling, mountain biking, or watching gliders at the nearby airfield with its own restaurant. Not far from the camp, you'll find the Erlenweiher with a cozy, public fire pit. The camp itself is equipped with a gas grill.

Martin is a very friendly host. We arrived by bike and stayed in a tent. On a hot day, we had access to a swimming pool. We have very fond memories of this stay.
Personal welcome by the host. Very beautiful and quiet surroundings with all the amenities. A perfect place for our first camping experience with a caravan. Many thanks again to the hosts, we will definitely be back.

It was fantastic for us (family of 4). The surroundings are breathtaking, and there is a great, spacious area to pitch the tent where you can enjoy some peace and quiet. We also rented the pool, which was really great during the hot weekend. We didn't get to meet Martin in person, but he responded to us quickly. The shower and toilet were clean, and the other facilities were also noteworthy! We definitely want to come back here again.
We were welcomed by the host in a very friendly and uncomplicated manner. We particularly appreciated being allowed to use his gas grill free of charge.
The sanitary facilities (toilet and shower) are located in the cowshed, and there is a washing-up area in the milk room. The site is very quiet and secluded in the middle of the Linth Plain, with a free choice between sunny and shady spots. Anyone who appreciates a beautiful view and proximity to farming will feel at home here.
However, there are many flies during the day and many mosquitoes at night. Those who have trouble with dirt, flies, and a farm environment, or who are very fastidious, will probably feel less comfortable here. For nature lovers and people seeking peace and seclusion, however, the site is a good choice.
The price of CHF 50/night is rather at the upper limit.
