Camping in the Black Forest

Demeterhof mit Zeltwiese

Germany-72218 Wildberg
Come and visit our beautifully situated farm in the Northern Black Forest. Perched above the Nagold Valley, amidst ancient fruit trees and our meadows, you'll discover expansive views of the landscape and a tranquil spot to linger. We live here with our chickens, cattle, and alpacas, cultivating grain and lentils using biodynamic methods. You can purchase fresh eggs, apple juice, and lentils directly from our farm. We look forward to welcoming guests to our farm. On the slope of Käpflesberg, with a view of the valley, we have space for your tent. In 2019, we built a wonderful new hot shower for our guests. There is also a toilet. You'll find a simple kitchenette with a refrigerator and dishes, allowing you to prepare a meal, and there's also a common room for bad weather. Additionally, we have a fire pit with barbecue facilities for our guests. There are plenty of level pitches, so you can choose the spot that best suits you upon arrival. The meadow has a few trees, and parking is conveniently located nearby. Check-in time is from 3 PM to 6 PM. Check-out is by 11 AM.

Welcome to the Unterer Berghof! We're delighted to have you here! To help you get your bearings around the farm quickly, we have put together all the most important information for your stay. Animals on Our Farm Many different animals live on the Unterer Berghof, and you are more than welcome to visit them. Our chickens live at the back in the poplar woods in two mobile coops – one on each side of the road. Their runs are fenced in. Our livestock guardian dogs live there as well. These large white dogs will probably bark when you walk past, but they stay behind the electric fence and are simply looking after the chickens. We also have cattle grazing across our pastures. They may not always be visible directly from the farmyard. Towards the back of the property, our alpacas live in a pasture. There is a shelter and a chain-link fence, but no electric fence. Feel free to stroll over and say hello to the alpacas! In general, you are very welcome to visit all our animals. Please be calm and respectful around them, and only feed them after checking with us first. Waste & Recycling Right by the entrance you'll find our recycling station. There you will find: * A general waste bin (Restmüll) * A glass recycling bin * Three paper recycling bins Please bring your rubbish here and separate it accordingly. Our Farm Shop We have a self-service farm shop directly on site. Here you'll find mostly our own farm-fresh products, such as: * Eggs * Lentils * Traditional Spätzle noodles * Meat from our freezer * Various pasta sauces and other local goods Payment is on the honour system – simply drop your payment into the cash slot in the shop. If you ever need change, just let us know and we'll gladly help you out. Parking There are several parking options around the farm. Facing the farm shop, you can park to the left along the barn. There are also two gravel parking spots further back on the left-hand side. Below the shepherd's wagons (Schäferwagen), there are two additional gravel parking spaces. Please ensure that all farm tracks and access roads remain clear at all times. Sanitary Facilities, Kitchen & Lounge If you walk around the workshop building from the farmyard, you'll reach the second door with a toilet sign. This is where our communal spaces are located. On the left is the shower. Please leave the door open after showering and leave the facilities clean and tidy for the next guests. Next to the shower is our shared kitchen, available to all guests. Please tidy and clean up after each use. In particular, please dry your dishes and put them away immediately so that everyone can enjoy using the kitchen, even when the farm is busy. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, kettle, and all basic cooking essentials. In the shepherd's wagons you'll also find a tray to conveniently carry items back and forth. If the weather isn't cooperating, there is a dining table available inside the lounge. Two toilets are located at the back of the building. Drinks In the hallway, there is a self-service fridge stocked with cold beverages. Payment can be made via the cash box above the fridge. The two crates next to it are for returning deposit bottles purchased from our fridge. Please dispose of your own personal rubbish and bottles at the main waste station by the entrance. Fire Pit & Firewood To the left of the fridge, you will find an aluminium staircase leading up to the campsite and fire pit. There is a designated fire pit on the campsite. Weather permitting and subject to current wildfire regulations, you are very welcome to light a campfire. Firewood is available for purchase. You will find large black crates at the firewood area. A full crate of firewood costs €4. You can drop the money into the cash slot at the farm shop or by the drinks fridge. Please always consider current weather conditions when making a fire and ensure it is fully extinguished afterwards. For Our Camping Guests You are free to choose your own pitch on the campsite. The only small challenge is finding a nice, level spot for your tent or camper. For instance, you can pitch along the path between the campsite and the shepherd's meadow (Schäferwiese). This path leads all the way back to the alpaca enclosure. Alternatively, you can pick a suitable spot on the meadow itself. You can access the meadow from below by driving past the firewood area and heading up. Electricity There is a power connection at the house where the kitchen is located. You can run your extension lead towards the kitchen and pass the cable through one of the windows. Additional power sockets are also located at the end of the barn building (on the rear gable wall when viewed from the campsite). For Children Our swing, trampoline, slide, and sandpit are available for all children to enjoy. Have fun playing! And Finally... We want you to feel completely at home, unwind, and enjoy farm life with all our animals. If you have any questions or need anything at all during your stay, please don't hesitate to contact us. The easiest way to reach us is by text message on our mobile phone. We wish you a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Unterer Berghof!

Best view to wake up to, and the girls started their day with petting the alpaca’s. It’s not getting better than this! Thanks!
We had two wonderful nights. Everything is very clean and the animals bring great joy!
Beautifully located farm with a great farm shop and wonderful hosts. Straightforward from start to finish. You can choose your own pitch in a large area shaded by trees.
Very lovingly maintained surroundings in a quiet location. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.
