Camping in the Black Forest
Micro-Hütte mit Sternenblick
Germany-77978 Schuttertal
Overnight 'Forest Bathing'.
If you love sleeping outdoors with a touch of comfort and want to skip the tent, you've come to the right place.
You will sleep divinely in this outdoor bed made of Douglas fir, right in the heart of nature. As soon as your feet hit the ground, you’ll find yourself between the meadows and the edge of the forest, with a stunning view of the Schutter Valley. Located about 1 km from our farm.
You decide whether you want to fall asleep under the open sky or protected beneath the textile roof, which can be pushed back when open. There is also a side entrance that is quickly accessible via a zipper. The 1.2 x 2 m mattress makes it a cozy sleeping spot for two.
This is a place for nature-filled experiences and moments you won't forget. Whether you arrive on foot, by bike, or by car, it’s a beautiful and cozy solution. Escape your bedroom and spend some time under the stars!

For your bathroom needs and all compostable waste, a spade is provided at the sleeping area. There is plenty of space in the adjacent forest to dig a hole and bury everything safely out of reach of wildlife. Water can be refilled at the farm's well or at the shelter, where you will also find power outlets for small electronic devices. A regular toilet is located at the main farmstead in the 'Leibgedinghaus'. This can be reached in 10-15 minutes on foot, or much faster by bike.

The macro-hut is big enough for 2 people, provided you leave your luggage outside. It is equipped with a mattress, so sleeping mats are not necessary. The view looks directly into the valley. There is a second hut about 50m away as the crow flies, which was also occupied. This wasn't communicated beforehand and really detracted from the sense of adventure. The hut was not easy to find, nor were the nearby water and electricity connections. We never found the outdoor shower, which would have been desperately needed after the sweaty bike ride. The hosts were unreachable (phone on silent). Signage would be helpful. The water is drinkable, but we didn't know that either; we just took the risk. There was a toilet nearby, but it was locked. Overall, there is room for improvement here. Additionally, the bed has a side board held to the frame by magnets. If you bump against it at night, it falls down with a loud crash. This happened 3 times—not exactly a restful night's sleep.
Very beautiful location and a hassle-free experience. A nearby camping or compost toilet would still be nice, despite the facilities available at the farm.
A beautiful, quiet little spot and wonderful people!
5 stars for an unforgettable forest bathing weekend at Kasperhof :) Parents in the mini-cabin at night, adult children in hammocks in the woods.
We wouldn't have imagined beforehand that such an idyllic place could exist - pure peace and wonderful forest air.
Another 5 stars for:
_very friendly hosts
_swimming pond fed with fresh spring water down at the farm
_farm shop on-site with regional delicacies (opening hours focused on Friday/Saturday morning, so bring food; but it seems it might even be possible to buy something outside of opening hours)
We will definitely be back!

Very beautiful accommodation between the forest and valley views, offering nature without distractions. The bed is also long enough for guests over 1.90m. 😉 Electricity and water are available, but not directly at the cabin; they are located on the path leading to it. The cabin is oriented so that you can beautifully see both the moonrise and sunrise. I would love to come back when I'm in the area.
Super beautiful spot with a great view
Beautiful and clean little cabin with a wonderful view of nature and the stars. Brigitte as a host was easy to reach, and very helpful and friendly as well.
