Schlafen bei den Schafen

Germany-06429 Nienburg (Saale)
The Association of Friends and Patrons of the Life's Work of Heinrich Gottfried Bandhauer e.V. says... True to the motto: Sleeping with the Sheep, the uniquely historic Sheepfold, built by Gottfried Bandhauer, invites you to visit Grimschleben. In this unique building, nestled in a rural idyll along the Europa Cycle Path, you can admire an exhibition about the works of its builder. On the premises, pitches are available for tents, motorhomes/caravans, and more, which can be used for a few days. In the wider surroundings, there are numerous opportunities for shopping, bars, and restaurants. An outdoor swimming pool is available in the summer months in the neighboring small town of Nienburg, which can be quickly reached on foot, by bike, and more.

Everything was great, quiet courtyard.
A rustic and quiet spot right by a heritage-listed sheepfold. Everything you need is there, and as a bonus, there are some funny sheep. Nienburg is just a stone's throw away by bike, where you can find shops, an ice cream parlor, and restaurants. Thank you very much.
Would happily return
Very nice place, lovely hosts - everything was great!
Very nice, large site, extremely quiet and clean. Super friendly and straightforward host. The sheep barn itself is historic and its history can be looked up on Google.
A truly special place! We really enjoyed camping on the lovely spot in front of the architecturally unique sheep barn. Martin gives a very informative tour inside the sheep barn, including a video and information boards. Shower, toilet, outdoor water tap, and electricity—everything is there. Thank you!
Martin is a very friendly host whose life story is closely tied to the place. The location is perfect, absolute peace and quiet, a historic sheep barn right next door, and facilities including a toilet and shower. Highly recommended!
