Stellplatz Naturjuwel Hintersee

Picturesquely nestled between steep rock faces lies the Hintersee, a popular destination for excursions. The head of the Felbertal valley is defined by this mountain lake, which was formed by a rockfall in 1495. The ice-cold water is so crystal clear that you can see right to the bottom and watch the fish swimming about. Just a few meters from the lake, there is a large parking area for day visitors, where up to 10 spaces can also be used as pitches for campers. Toilets with sinks are available, but there are no shower facilities. Please do not dispose of large quantities of waste in the local bins; instead, use the waste collection centers in the valley towns. Mobile reception is often difficult at the parking area and there is no internet access. We therefore recommend booking your pitch online in advance. Dogs are generally welcome, but as the site is located on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park, they must be kept on a lead to protect the local wildlife. PLEASE NOTE: Parking and camping along the access road and at the Schösswendklamm parking lot are strictly prohibited without exception!
