Nestled on the edge of a tranquil 600-soul village, without through traffic, and bordering a forest, lies our peaceful 4000 sqm meadow property, framed by large trees. It's the perfect spot to truly unwind and reconnect with nature, enjoying campfires and birdsong in an informal, unconventional setting. Campfires are welcome, and wood can be purchased affordably on-site or brought with you. On weekends, you can enhance your stay by ordering homemade wild herb dishes, freshly baked spelt rolls, spelt white bread, wild herb baguettes, our own chicken or quail eggs, and homemade jellies and jams. We can't wait to welcome you! Udo & Kiki P.S. Since the shelter is located a few hundred meters above and celebrations often take place there, we will specifically check with the hut warden for booking inquiries and communicate this with you. 🤗

The property offers space for all types of camping, whether it's an RV, caravan, tent, or perhaps even sleeping under the open sky – anything is possible. Of course, you can also barbecue at the fire pit; a swing grill can be provided, or you can carve a small branch fork from the surrounding beech or hazelnut trees and grill in a rustic, old-fashioned way... Seating is available.

Our local outdoor pool offers a variety of fun and leisure activities, including volleyball, a children's playground, and a multi-sport field. Herzhausen is nestled in the Upper Lahn Valley natural area of the Lahn-Dill-Bergland region in Central Hesse, approximately 20 km west of Marburg and 10 km east of Biedenkopf, within the municipality of Dautphetal. With its picturesque landscape and surrounding forests, Herzhausen is perfect for local recreation. Since 1954, Herzhausen has been designated as a protected landscape area. Additionally, there are several hiking trails around Herzhausen and the neighboring villages. I went camping here with my daughter this weekend and we really enjoyed our time. The property is large, beautifully situated, and offers plenty of space. We used the fire pit with the provided tripod several times every day. Two chairs and a large table were also available, although we preferred to get cozy on the logs by the fire. The site is located right at the edge of the forest and is separated from the last few houses by a row of trees. Aside from a few passing cars during the day, it is truly peaceful here. A special highlight was seeing two deer running across the property both early in the morning and at dusk one day. Kiki and Udo were very friendly and always helpful with any questions. An extra tip: you can buy fresh eggs from their own chickens. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

This was our second time visiting Kiki & Udo's site while traveling from south to north. Once again, we were glad we made the detour to this meadow, where we could enjoy the peace of the green landscape and the well-maintained grounds.

Communication with Udo and Kiki is very pleasant, both gave us an extremely warm welcome. The site is located on the edge of town and is quiet. All in all, the place is just as described, I can highly recommend it.
