Discover a tranquil spot behind the barn on the edge of the Palatinate Forest, right in the heart of the Palatinate, near Otterberg. Here, you'll find peace, even with the occasional passing car, along with starry nights and a beautiful view of the valley, dotted with horse pastures and fields. This is what awaits you on our former farm, nestled on the outskirts of a small village. The pitch is gravelled but has since become overgrown with grass, adding to its natural charm. Our neighbor runs an equestrian center and would be delighted to welcome your visit. For your convenience, diverse shopping options and a swimming pool are just 2 km away in Otterberg. And for all hiking enthusiasts, the Palatinate Forest promises an unforgettable experience!

Horse riding is available at the neighbor's equestrian center, subject to prior booking. They also offer riding lessons for children and teenagers. Discover the ancient Cistercian abbey church and the charming old town in Otterberg. The forest swimming pool is just a 10-minute drive away. You can reach Kaiserslautern city center in just 20 minutes.

In principle, it is true that this is a quiet spot – but only if round bales aren't being unloaded and wrapped for hours on the adjacent meadow. I fully understand the necessity (my grandparents had a farm themselves, and when the weather is right during harvest, the work has to be done), but in that case, I would have preferred the weekend to be marked as unavailable. As a result, we unfortunately cut our stay (which was meant for relaxation) short. A pity.
A note regarding the power connection: The pictures show one woodpile – now there are more like four rows, which has significantly reduced the distance between the pitch and the road. A standard cable reel (25 m) is no longer sufficient; we switched to solar instead. So, if you don't have a very long cable box with you, you can save yourself the cost of electricity. Perhaps it would be an idea to move the shore power connection to the corner of the barn.
Conclusion: Outside of harvest time and with a sufficiently long cable, it's quite a nice place.
