Camping on the Moselle

Camping oberhalb der Mittelmosel

Germany-54472 Kommen
A unique, peaceful spot awaits you on our former horse pasture, complete with a babbling brook and unobstructed views of a lush valley. We offer Wi-Fi, electricity, and a water connection directly on the meadow. A container equipped with a shower, toilet, and kitchenette is available to every guest free of charge. The meadow is located behind our former farmhouse on the edge of the village. Bikers are welcome—we have a solid shelter and a garage for repairs available. The camp is perfectly situated at the starting point of the Moselle serpentines leading to Bernkastel-Kues. A small grocery store is within walking distance (approx. 1.5 km). In the evenings and on weekends, absolute silence prevails, allowing you to listen undisturbed to the stream and local birds. At least one family of deer lives in the valley and can be spotted from a distance almost daily. On weekdays, the gentle sounds of local businesses or passing cars can be heard, but they remain well within a tolerable range. The access road is graveled and easy to navigate even in rainy weather, and the meadow itself is safe to drive on during the summer months. Under the cherry trees by the brook, you'll find a shaded spot with a bench overlooking the campsite. A fire pit for campfires is also provided. As a motorcycle and vintage car enthusiast, I highly recommend a visit to the 'Zylinderhaus' auto museum, just 20 minutes away. All in all, this is a wonderful insider tip for a legal and undisturbed 'wild' camping experience. Please remember that a portion of your booking fee goes to Nomady. We wish you a fantastic getaway on our meadow!

The Erbeskopf, the highest mountain in the Hunsrück, can be reached in approximately 40 minutes by car. A new mountain bike trail has recently opened on the Idarkopf, about a 30-minute drive away. Once again, it was wonderful staying with Lars & Mary at their small but lovely campsite! It's a true blessing to be able to book this pitch all to yourself! Please keep it that way!!! Shower 🚿 and toilet 🚽 clean, electricity and water supply guaranteed – great and THANK YOU! We will be back, no question!
Lars and his family gave us a very warm welcome! Everything is arranged with great attention to detail and is clean. There is even a kitchen equipped with a fridge, stove, and dishes, so our groceries could be cooled right away. My grandson and I watched the stars late into the night and had a wonderful stay. We would love to come back.
A lovely campsite with plenty of peace and quiet! I really enjoyed it and you truly have EVERYTHING you need. The highlight was the deer that was wandering around the adjacent property and kept curiously checking out what we were up to. My dog and I thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful weekend and will definitely be back.
This small but very lovely secluded spot is a true sanctuary! My Bernese Mountain Dog and I felt right at home. The sanitary facilities are very clean, and both electricity and drinking water supplies are provided. The wonderful surroundings are perfect for hiking and taking a moment to unwind! Lars proved to be a very pleasant and friendly host to chat with! We will gladly come back — very gladly indeed! Stefan and Bernese Mountain Dog Benji
A super beautiful, quiet pitch in the manageable village of Kommen – practically on a large, mostly level meadow behind a tool shed and house, which also features a tiny house and a sanitary container. Very nice and completely unobtrusive contact with the host Lars, who takes care of things. The view uphill over the fields is great. The comfortable, quite new-looking sanitary facilities – two toilets and a shower that is very spacious compared to a motorhome – can be used and were very clean. The fire pit with seating is perfect for barbecuing. We were there alone and had a wonderful amount of space with our three dogs. Admittedly, the place has its price. However, based on the sanitary facilities alone, it is absolutely justified. You can really relax here for a while! Thanks for this beautiful spot.
Super nice hosts! The entire place was spotless and incredibly relaxing. No noise at night, so I was able to sleep excellently. Absolute recommendation. I will be back!
