At our "Pitch by the Birches", a truly special sanctuary of peace and relaxation awaits you. In an idyllic, secluded setting at an altitude of around 650 metres, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Kandel, the Feldberg, Freiburg, and all the way to the Vosges mountains.
The pitch is quietly situated on the edge of the village and is exclusively yours to enjoy. Here, far away from hustle and bustle, through traffic, and everyday stress, you can savour your time off undisturbed. Instead of traffic noise, you will be greeted by birdsong, fresh Black Forest air, and, on clear nights, an awe-inspiring starry sky.
Directly from the pitch, you have direct access to the Kandelhöhenweg as well as Freiamt's popular panoramic trail. Whether you enjoy hiking, mountain biking, or simply soaking in nature, this is the perfect base for unforgettable adventures. The well-known ZweiTälerSteig trail in the Elz Valley is also just a few minutes' drive away.
For families and day-trippers, Europa-Park is only about 40 minutes away. A short stroll to the nearby hunting lodge is also well worth it—on a clear day, you can even spot some of the park's attractions in the distance.
My parents and I run our family farm together. In the winter, we care for around 65 cattle in our barn before they head back out to graze on the pastures in summer. Our farm dog, Max, and our six cats are also part of the family.
The pitch is located on a meadow with a firm, gravelled base, offering ideal conditions for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature.

🚐 Is the access road also suitable for larger motorhomes/RVs? Yes, the access road is easily passable. The route via Denzlingen, Sexau, and Freiamt is the most pleasant.

♻️ Is there a way to dispose of rubbish? Please take your rubbish with you and leave the area clean

🚽 Can the camping toilet be emptied? No, the disposal of toilet waste and greywater is not possible on-site.

🛒 Are there shopping facilities nearby? In the village (approx. 10 minutes away), you'll find a bakery, a small local grocery store, as well as numerous farm shops and vending machines with regional products.

🐶 Are dogs allowed? Yes, dogs are warmly welcome. Please be considerate of other guests, our animals, and nature.

🌙 How quiet is the pitch? The site is very peaceful and in a secluded location. Here, you'll mostly hear birds chirping, the wind in the trees, and the sounds of nature.

🥾 Can you go hiking directly from the pitch? Yes! The Kandelhöhenweg and the Panorama circular trail are accessible right from the site, and the Zwei-Täler-Steig is just a few minutes' drive away.

🌧️ Is the site accessible even in the rain? Yes, thanks to the gravel surface, the pitch is generally easily accessible and usable even in wet weather.

In the village, just a 10-minute drive from the pitch, you'll find a bakery as well as a small corner store for your daily essentials.
A real highlight in Freiamt is the direct farm sales. Many local farmers offer their produce around the clock via vending machines or directly from their farms. You can buy fresh milk, eggs, seasonal vegetables, and high-quality local meat.
Freiamt also has plenty to offer food lovers. Several traditional inns and restaurants invite you to enjoy authentic Baden cuisine and regional specialties.

Our pitch is the ideal starting point for discovering the very best of the Black Forest. Right from the site, you can set out on the Kandelhöhenweg trail as well as the popular panoramic circular route in Freiamt. The access point to the well-known Zwei-Täler-Steig trail is also just a few minutes' drive away.
Whether you love hiking or biking, the Kandel and the Feldberg offer some of the most breathtaking viewpoints in the region. For a refreshing cool-down after an active tour, the Kneipp water-treading basin in Freiamt invites you to unwind.
Families will have a fantastic time as well. The Kurhaus in Freiamt features a mini-golf course and an indoor pool. The Rollberg in Freiamt offers fun for all ages, while the Waldkirch Zoo is a favorite among animal lovers.
Another top highlight is the Waldkirch Treetop Walk (Baumwipfelpfad), where you can experience the Black Forest from a whole new perspective. Equally worth a visit are the Triberg Waterfalls, one of Germany's most famous natural attractions.

Super great pitch. The last stretch of the drive on a slightly steeper gravel track made our rig (car with caravan) sweat a little – but everything went great and the view is breathtaking!
The next morning, we walked 4.5 km to the Kreuzmoos restaurant for lunch (stroller-friendly hike) – simply top notch.
We will definitely come back.

Hey, it was dreamy here at Steffi's, which is why we just extended our stay by another day. You can go hiking, cycling, or just lie in the shade of the birch trees and enjoy yourself. Very beautiful pitch! If you are looking for peace and quiet with a great view, this is the perfect place for you. We really enjoyed the seclusion. I can 100% recommend this spot for dog owners. We stayed for three nights, and during that time, only two cyclists passed by near our pitch. Otherwise, we were completely undisturbed. Additionally, you have the option to start hiking directly from the site. Communication with Steffi via chat was absolutely seamless and super friendly. Since she wasn't on-site herself, we were greeted very warmly by her mom shortly after our arrival. It is perhaps worth mentioning that mobile reception isn't particularly good, but that didn't bother us at all.
Quiet, beautiful place with a mega view. Experienced a wonderful sunset just a 5-minute walk up the hill. Super friendly contact with Steffi (including a spontaneous change of pitch. Thanks again for that). Absolute recommendation.
Great spot in nature. We really enjoyed the weekend. The view is amazing. The site is a bit sloping, but it's manageable with leveling blocks. Very quiet location. We will definitely go back again.
