Idyllic Nature beneath Castle Ruins – Green Pitch in the Countryside
Nestled between forest and river, below an ancient castle ruin and on the grounds of a former estate farm, lies our nature-inspired camper pitch – lush, green, and with plenty of space to arrive and unwind.
You will be pitched on a spacious meadow (grass ground) with expansive views of the greenery and direct access to the woods. The pitch is ideal for campers seeking a simple, authentic getaway.
A special highlight is our two donkeys 🫏, who might just greet you in the morning with a bit of luck – an experience that many guests remember fondly for a long time. In the evening, the calls of owls create a truly unique atmosphere.
The surrounding area invites you to enjoy scenic walks and relaxing hours in nature. Perfect for couples, solo travelers, and anyone looking for peace and quiet.

• Location: close to nature at Waldecker Hof (now a senior residence), not a traditional commercial campsite
• Ground: meadow / grass
• Far from neighbors, but not completely isolated
• A nearby road can be heard, but it becomes noticeably quieter at night

Dogs are more than welcome here, with plenty of nature and space to roam right around the site. Please note: dogs are not permitted inside the buildings (common rooms/restrooms), as our own farm dog lives on the premises. We also kindly ask that you keep your dogs under control while on the property and remain mindful of other animals and the surroundings.

• Water can be drawn directly from the River Nagold, which flows through the property (not tested as drinking water).
• Common room accessible in the adjacent historic courtyard (now Waldecker Hof / senior residence):

You can cancel up to 3 days before the latest check-in time on the arrival day. The refund includes the booking amount minus 1.5x the displayed Nomady fee. The cutoff is the latest check-in time of this spot — not midnight. Cancellations apply to the entire booking including extra products. Partial cancellations are not possible. Cancellations are only accepted via the designated cancellation tool. Verbal or written agreements cannot be taken into account. You can find out how to cancel in our FAQs.

Surroundings & Activities
Winter access
As noted in the description, access is via a small wooden bridge which can be easily missed in winter—please drive slowly and stay alert. The bridge may be slippery in wet or frosty conditions.
The parking area is located on a meadow. In wet weather or winter conditions, the ground can become soft and muddy in places.
Depending on the weather, we recommend approaching with care. A 4WD vehicle is an advantage during the winter months. Please note that the site is only partially suitable for very heavy vehicles.

You will find shops, bakeries, cafés, and restaurants in the nearby towns of Calw and Wildberg (both about a 5-minute drive away).
On-site, we also offer fresh eggs from our own farm—subject to availability.

Winter hiking trails start right from the site, leading you through scenic forests and up to the Waldeck castle ruins. Within a short drive, you can also enjoy the thermal baths in Bad Teinach or visit the Polarion ice rink.

Great, quiet location, only the main road is a bit bothersome. The toilets were clean and tidy. A tap with non-potable water for washing dishes would be a good idea.
The site is in an idyllic location. The issue with the road has been mentioned here often enough. What slightly dampened the good impression was the amount of stored equipment and building materials. Also, the thing with the toilet code only worked moderately well. We just ended up asking around. The toilet was only moderately clean. All in all, in my opinion, this beautiful little spot lacked a bit of love.
Great spot by the water. The donkeys are awesome and when I'm old, I want to move into the senior residence there. The only annoying thing is the road. Best to pack some earplugs and then you'll be fine. We really loved it there. Maybe we'll stop by again 😘
Everything went smoothly. You can go hiking with your dog directly from the site. The main road is clearly audible, but it didn't bother us.
Such a great place. We felt very comfortable and would love to visit again.
