Your own private slice of nature by the pond – tucked away among the trees, completely secluded, and exclusively yours during your stay. Located in the lush greenery near Grafengehaig in the Franconian Forest, you'll camp on mown meadow areas right by a small natural pond. Surrounded by trees, shady spots, and rustic seating, the site is always booked for one group at a time – so you won't have to share with other guests. There is a fire pit right by the pond where you can grill, cook, or gather around the fire in the evenings, provided weather conditions, forest fire risk, and local regulations allow. It is not part of the booking and cannot be used for sleeping. Grafengehaig is surrounded by numerous forest, meadow, and hiking trails in the Franconian Forest. A local contact lives nearby and can help with questions regarding arrival, the site, or excursion tips. The site is quiet, simple, rustic, and natural. There is no shower and no regular electricity. The well water is not tested drinking water – please bring your own drinking water. Direct car access is not possible. Parking is available nearby, followed by a roughly 100m walk along a natural meadow path. The pond is not a designated swimming pond. Ideal for couples, friends, and small groups. Larger groups are welcome upon request.

There is no shower and no standard electricity connection. Mobile reception is generally available, though it may vary depending on your provider. The site is intentionally simple and left in its natural state.

The cutoff is the latest check-in time of this spot — not midnight. Cancellations apply to the entire booking including extra products. Partial cancellations are not possible. Fires and barbecues are only permitted at the designated fire pit, provided that weather conditions, forest fire risk levels, and local regulations allow.

Please leave the space as you found it and remember to take your trash with you.

Please be mindful of the neighborhood and avoid loud music or unnecessary noise, especially during the night.

The pond is a natural pond and not a designated swimming area. Use at your own risk; please supervise children near the water at all times.

The shepherd's hut is not part of the bookable accommodation and may not be used for overnight stays.

Dogs are more than welcome! We kindly ask that you keep them on a leash while on the property and show respect for the local wildlife and natural surroundings.

Parking is available near the site. From the parking area, it is approximately a 100-meter walk to the camp along a natural meadow path. Please note that luggage will need to be carried for this short distance.

There is a well with a hand pump on-site. Please note that the water is not certified as drinking water, so we kindly ask you to bring an adequate supply of your own bottled water.

A simple compost/sawdust toilet is available directly on-site. Please note that there is no shower or standard electricity connection.

The entire site is reserved exclusively for one booking at a time. Multiple tents are welcome; for larger groups, please just let us know in advance.
Surroundings & Activities
Winter access
Just like in summer, you will arrive at the parking area or meeting point near the camp. The final 100 meters to the campsite are covered on foot. Please note that this path is not cleared or salted in winter. Access can be challenging in snowy or icy conditions. We recommend wearing sturdy, winter-proof footwear and bringing appropriate gear depending on the snow levels.

There is a restaurant right in Horbach, with further dining options and shops available in Grafengehaig and the surrounding villages. At the local shop 'Unner Lädla' in Grafengehaig, you can find baked goods, drinks, cold cuts, fresh fruit and vegetables, and other essentials for your stay. It’s also a lovely spot to stop for a coffee. For larger grocery runs, we recommend picking up your supplies on your way here or before you arrive.
