At the “Pitch by the Oak Tree” spot, a truly special haven of peace and slow living awaits you. In an idyllic, secluded location at an altitude of around 650 metres, you can enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the Kandel, the Feldberg, Freiburg, and extending all the way to the Vosges mountains.
The pitch is peacefully situated on the outskirts of the village and is exclusively yours. Here, you can enjoy your getaway completely undisturbed, far away from hustle and bustle, through traffic, and everyday stress. Instead of road noise, you are greeted by birdsong, crisp Black Forest air, and on clear nights, a breathtaking starry sky.
Directly from the pitch, you have direct access to the Kandelhöhenweg trail as well as Freiamt's popular panoramic trail. Whether hiking, mountain biking, or simply soaking in nature, this is the perfect base for unforgettable experiences. The well-known ZweiTälerSteig in the Elz Valley is also just a few minutes' drive away.
For families and day-trippers, Europa-Park is only about 40 minutes away. A short stroll to the nearby hunting lodge is also well worth it—on a clear day, you can even spot some of the theme park's attractions from there.
My parents and I run our farm together. In winter, we care for around 65 cattle in our barn before they spend the summer out on the pastures. Our farm dog Max and our six cats are also part of the family.
The pitch is set on a meadow with a reinforced gravel base, offering ideal conditions for a relaxing break in the heart of nature.

🚐 Is the access road also suitable for larger motorhomes? Yes, the access road is easy to drive on. The route via Denzlingen, Sexau, and Freiamt is the most pleasant.

🚽 Can the camping toilet be emptied? No, disposal of toilet contents and gray water is not possible on-site.

🛒 Are there shopping options nearby? In the village (about 10 minutes away) there is a bakery, a small village shop, as well as numerous farm shops and vending machines with regional products.

🐶 Are dogs allowed? Yes, dogs are warmly welcome. Please be considerate of other guests, our animals, and nature.

🌙 How quiet is the pitch? The pitch is very quiet in a secluded location. Here you'll mainly hear birdsong, wind in the trees, and nature.

🥾 Can you hike directly from the pitch? Yes. The Kandelhöhenweg and the Panorama-Rundweg are directly accessible, and the Zwei-Täler-Steig is just a few minutes away by car.

🌧️ Is the pitch accessible even when it rains? Yes, thanks to the gravel base, the pitch is generally easy to use even in wet weather.

🌅 When is the best time for the view? In the morning, you can experience dreamy sunrises over the Elztal valley. When visibility is clear, the view extends to the Vosges, across the Rhine plain, and to the Kaiserstuhl.

In the village, just a 10-minute drive from the pitch, you will find a bakery and a small convenience store for your daily essentials.
A real highlight is the direct local produce sales in Freiamt. Many farmers offer their products 24/7 via vending machines or directly from the farm, where you can buy fresh milk, eggs, seasonal vegetables, and high-quality regional meat.
Freiamt also has plenty to offer food lovers. Several traditional inns and restaurants invite you to savor local Baden cuisine and regional specialties.

Our pitch is the ideal starting point for discovering the best of the Black Forest. Directly from the site, you can access the Kandelhöhenweg trail as well as the popular panoramic circular route in Freiamt. The start of the well-known Zwei-Täler-Steig is also just a few minutes' drive away.
For those who love hiking or biking, the Kandel and Feldberg peaks offer some of the most stunning viewpoints in the region. For a refreshing break after a tour, the Kneipp water-treading facility in Freiamt is the place to be.
Families will have plenty to enjoy as well. Kurhaus Freiamt features a mini-golf course and an indoor pool. The Rollberg Freiamt guarantees fun for all ages, while the Waldkirch Zoo is especially popular with animal lovers.
Another highlight is the Waldkirch Treetop Walk (Baumwipfelpfad), where you can experience the Black Forest from a completely new perspective. Equally worth a visit are the Triberg Waterfalls, one of Germany's most famous natural attractions.
