For using the bathroom and disposing of compostable waste, a spade is provided at your sleeping spot. There is plenty of space in the adjacent forest to dig a hole and bury everything safely out of reach of wildlife. Water can be refilled at the farm's well or at the shelter, where you will also find power outlets for small electronic devices. The regular toilet is located back at the farm in the 'Leibgedinghaus'. It is about a 10-15 minute walk (1 km) from the forest to the toilet, though you'll be much faster by bike.

From the surrounding train stations, it's a lovely day hike to our accommodations. This makes it the perfect weekend getaway to escape the city or your usual surroundings. Get out, hike, bike!

A truly great experience at the edge of the forest. Brigitte and her husband are super nice. Everything was very straightforward—though there isn't much that could be complicated anyway. A great bed, very comfortable garden chairs with a small table next to them, and the spade was in its place too. Everything met my expectations. It would be nice if the composting toilet at the wash area could also be used. It's a bit of a walk to get there, but a little bit of comfort isn't a bad thing sometimes. The climb (1km uphill) with luggage and a non-electric bike on an extremely humid 35° summer day was quite a challenge 🥵 I would love to come back anytime.

We felt very comfortable staying with Brigitte and Martin. We had a warm, starry night with shooting stars and a view of the moon. The natural swimming pond offered a refreshing cool-down, and we enjoyed some delicious treats at the farm shop. Many thanks to Brigitte and Martin for this wonderful experience.
