Camping in the Black Forest Highlands

This pitch is nestled between an idyllic orchard and the edge of the forest—a perfect place to take a breather, unwind, and recharge your batteries. The surroundings offer endless possibilities, with nature in its purest, most unique form. Located in a secluded spot right by the woods, the site is about 250m from our farm. The ground is mostly grass, and a fire pit with a small grill grate is provided. Please feel free to gather firewood in the forest or bring your own for a relaxed evening. Here, you can truly enjoy everything the great outdoors has to offer: fishing at Lake Schluchsee or Schlüchtsee, forest bathing, swimming in the Mettma (the stream right by the farm), birdwatching, cycling, hiking, and much more. Nearby, you'll find the Rothaus Brewery and the 'Black Forest House of the Senses' in the village of Grafenhausen. There are also hiking trails specifically for children. In winter, there is a small ski lift and a sledding run directly opposite. Shops such as a bakery, supermarket, and café are located in the next town, Grafenhausen. The Rothaus Brewery is a 20-25 minute walk away; in addition to the famous 'Zäpfle' beer, the Rothaus Genusswelt offers various culinary delights. For delicious Rösti with a variety of toppings, head over to the Speckhüsli.

As the camp is located directly next to the forest path, you might occasionally see someone passing by if the other camp is also booked. Therefore, it makes sense to position your camp slightly away from the forest path or orient yourselves in the opposite direction for more privacy.

For those who wish to park closer to the sloe or elderberry trees, please remember to bring chocks, as the terrain there is sloped and a bit uneven.

Here, everything that makes the outdoors fun is truly possible. Whether it's fishing or swimming at Lake Schluchsee or Lake Schlüchtsee, forest bathing, birdwatching, hiking, biking, and so much more. The Rothaus Brewery is nearby, and in the village of Grafenhausen, you'll find the 'Schwarzwaldhaus der Sinne' (Black Forest House of the Senses). There are also special hiking trails for children. Right across the street in winter, you will find a small ski lift and a sledding run, as well as several trails for cross-country skiing and skating, depending on snow conditions.

Nice spot. Unfortunately, the peace and quiet was disturbed by a fairly continuous, loud, electrical humming from the yard or somewhere, and there was some cuttings lying around the spot.
